Syntero Outpatient Clinician Will Varnum, LISW-S, 200 RYT, will lead yoga sessions at two Dublin Arts Council (DAC) events this fall. DAC’s Art & Wellness Discovery Series, a two-year initiative that explores intersections of arts and wellness, will include two fall events:

25th Birthday Party for Field of Corn

  • Location: Frantz Park, 4995 Rings Rd., Dublin
  • Date: Saturday, September 28
  • Time: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Flow

  • Location: Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr., Dublin
  • Date: Saturday, October 12
  • Time: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Varnum will lead yoga for kids at the September event, and a restorative yoga session for adults at the October event. The sub-theme for the Field of Corn birthday party event is “play” and arts activities will include recreational lawn games, artist talk, a “corn maze” tour of the artwork and printmaking activities. Several local food vendors will be on-site as well. The “Flow” event will feature art activities that will inspire feelings of tranquility and calmness, including calligraphy and hand lettering workshops, de-stressing yoga and dance sessions. Both events are free and people of all ages are encouraged to attend.

Art & Wellness project collaborators include Syntero, Washington Township Fire & Emergency Medical Services, Dublin Bridges, Dublin City Schools, OhioDance and several City of Dublin departments, including Police, Human Resources and Recreation Services. The project is supported by grants from Ohio Arts Council, City of Dublin and the Cardinal Health Foundation, according to the DAC Web site.
Varnum is a certified yoga instructor and also leads Syntero’s “Yoga for Recovery” group for adults actively in recovery. Learn more about the Yoga for Recovery group here.
