CELEBRATING THE PAST. INSPIRING THE FUTURE

On September 23, 1975, Northwest Mental Health Services, later known as Northwest Counseling Services, started providing vital mental health support in Upper Arlington. In 2013, the agency merged with Dublin Counseling Center and adopted the name Syntero, from the Greek word “syntiró,” meaning “to support” or “to sustain.” What started with two community grassroot efforts to provide hope and healing to Central Ohio, has grown into a trusted network of care with four offices serving Delaware, Franklin, and Morrow counties.

As we celebrate 50 years of professional, compassionate, trauma-informed care, we honor our legacy, uplift the stories of those we’ve served, and look ahead to a future of expanded access, innovation, and community impact.

Bookmark this page to follow our celebration throughout the year (September 2025–September 2026) as we commemorate this milestone with special events, stories, and opportunities to make a difference.

To our clients, supporters, community partners, volunteers, donors, board members, and our amazing team over the years:

Fifty years of impact didn’t happen by chance; it happened because of you. Thank you for your hard work, support, commitment, care, and excellence.
