Groups for Parents and Guardians

All Syntero group programs are facilitated by licensed professionals and require pre-registration. There may be a cost associated with some groups. Syntero currently offers the following groups for parents and guardians (for more information, click on the name of the group of interest):​

At a Loss

This group is for parents who have been pre-deceased by a child. Group members have the opportunity to discuss grief and support each other.

Meets: 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:00 – 7:30pm
Place: Group currently meets virtually via Zoom.

Hope to Others (H2O)

This is an open support group for parents with a child of any age who have been impacted by alcohol and other drug use and abuse.  The group is facilitated by a licensed chemical dependency professional and provides a confidential and safe environment for support, information, and coping.

​

Meets: 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7:00 - 8:00 PM
Place: Group currently meets virtually via Zoom.

Triple P – Positive Parenting Program

Syntero's Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) offers supportive, small groups/workshops, five-week courses and individual support to help parents and caregivers connect with other caregivers and receive helpful information regarding raising young children from birth to age 8. The program is free for parents and caregivers who live or work in Delaware or Morrow Counties. Please scroll down to view current offerings.

Triple P Workshops

Supportive, small group programs to connect with other parents about raising young children. Participants can attend any of the following workshops for free:​

​

  • Monday, May 1, 2023 - 12:00 - 1:30 PM - Managing Fighting & Aggression​

​

  • ​Monday, May 8, 2023 - 12:00 - 1:30 PM - Dealing with Disobedience

​​​

Participants who are unable to attend workshops or are dealing with a different behavior may opt for free individual parenting support.

​

Triple P Five-Week Course

For parents and caregivers (grandparents, other relatives, guardians, etc.) of children from birth through first grade. Learn how to get more of the behavior you like from your children and less of what you don’t.

​

Classes will cover:

  • What causes kids’ behaviors

  • Setting goals for change

  • Tips on how to reconnect with your child and build your positive relationship

  • Giving directions kids are likely to follow

  • Recognizing progress and planning for the future

​

Each participant will also have three one-on-one phone/in-person sessions with the group leaders to make the information really work for their families. 

​

Triple P Individual Support

Brief, individual parenting support is available online or by phone on a wide variety of topics for parents and caregivers of young children:

  • Disobedience

  • Dealing with divorce

  • Talking back

  • Nightmares

  • Problems at school

  • Aggression

  • Sleep problems

  • Anxiety

  • Parent stress

  • Lying

  • Picky eaters

The Positive Parenting Course and Workshops are sponsored by Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ohio Children’s Trust Fund and the United Way of Delaware County Strengthening Families program.
