Groups for Youth

All Syntero group programs are facilitated by licensed professionals and require pre-registration. There may be a cost associated with some groups.

 

Syntero currently offers the following groups for youth (for more information, click on the name of the group of interest):​

Adolescent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Group

Do you feel like your emotions just take over? Does it seem like you go from one extreme to the other? Is it hard to keep friendships and relationships? The Adolescent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) group is designed to help adolescents better cope with the demands of young life and feel more in control. Days, times and locations available upon request.

​​​​​​Adolescent Mental Health/Substance Use Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Groups

Syntero offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adolescents struggling with mental health and/or substance use issues. Syntero’s integrated IOP model addresses adolescent mental and substance use disorders as distinct or co-occurring diagnoses. Syntero’s Adolescent IOP is facilitated by licensed clinical counselors and social workers specializing in treating adolescents. Days, times and locations available upon request.

​​Adolescent Relapse Prevention Group

This group is for teenagers 12 -18 years old struggling with mental health or substance use issues who are considering recovery. Self-referred clients or court-ordered clients are welcome. Days, times and locations available upon request.

​Celebrate You! 

This is a group for youth grades 6 - 10 to explore LGBTQ identity in its entirety, build self-esteem, emotional knowledge and recognize personal strengths while building solid connections with peers. This is a pro-social inclusive space for all and everyone is welcome —including allies.  Topics may include exploring and building a strong sense of self, mindfulness, improving self-talk, enhancing assertiveness, LGBTQIA+ history, supporting each other and being an “upstander.”  No intake or referral needed. Meets: 2nd and 4th Tuesday, 6:00 - 7:00 PM
Place: Group currently meets virtually via Zoom.

​​​​​​Rainbows Rising 

Rainbows Rising is a support group for gender expansive and exploring youth grades 3 - 5 to help build self-esteem, emotional knowledge and recognize personal strengths while building solid connections with peers. This is a pro-social inclusive space for all and everyone is welcome.  Topics may include exploring and building a strong sense of self, mindfulness, improving self-talk, enhancing assertiveness, LGBTQIA+ history, supporting each other and being an “upstander.” Allies are welcome. ​​​Youth Summer Groups

Syntero offers FREE group prevention services for students in Dublin, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Tolles and Grandview School Districts in Franklin County and Delaware and Morrow County School Districts. Syntero Summer Prevention programming is made possible by community-funded levy dollars as distributed by the Franklin County ADAMH Board and the Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board. Parents and caregivers of students enrolled outside of the identified districts will be welcome to register for a group(s) with openings after a to-be-determined date.
