Groups for Youth

All Syntero group programs are facilitated by licensed professionals and require pre-registration. There may be a cost associated with some groups. Syntero currently offers the following groups for youth (for more information, click on the name of the group of interest):​

Adolescent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Group

Do you feel like your emotions just take over? Does it seem like you go from one extreme to the other? Is it hard to keep friendships and relationships? The Adolescent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) group is designed to help adolescents better cope with the demands of young life and feel more in control.

Meets: Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 PM

Place: Lewis Center Office

Adolescent Relapse Prevention Group

This group is for teenagers 12 to 18 years old struggling with substance use and considering recovery. Self referred clients or court ordered clients are welcome.

Meets: Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 PM
Place: Group currently meets virtually via Zoom.

Celebrate You!!

This is a group for youth 12 to 18 years old (7th to 12th grades) to explore and celebrate LGBTQ identity in its entirety, build self-esteem, emotional knowledge and recognize personal strengths while building solid connections with peers.  This is a pro-social inclusive space for all and everyone is welcome.  No intake or referral needed. Meets: 1st and 3rd Mondays, 6:30-8:00 PM
Place: Group currently meets virtually via Zoom.

Celebrate Youth! – Coming Soon

Celebrate Youth is a support group for gender expansive and exploring youth ages 11 and younger. This is a pro-social inclusive space for all and everyone is welcome.  No intake or referral needed.

Melanin Matters – Coming Soon

Many teens are feeling the overwhelming burden of society now more than ever, with the added effects of the pandemic. Melanin Matters provides a place for teens to process, gain support, and to feel as though they are not alone in an inclusive space. BIPOC teens will be able to communicate, address issues that may be impacting their mental health, such as racism, exposure to traumatic events in the community, the media, social justice, inequity and racial identity and ways to build self-esteem and resilience.

Recovery Matters – Adolescent IOP

This group is designed for adolescents ages 12 – 18 struggling with addiction. There are 12-16 group therapy sessions along with biweekly or weekly individual therapy sessions. Weekly, random drug screens and AA or NA meeting attendance once per week to promote long term sobriety.

Meets: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM
Place: Group currently meets virtually via Zoom.

Youth Summer Groups

Syntero offers FREE group prevention services for students in Dublin, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Tolles and Grandview School Districts in Franklin County and Delaware and Morrow County School Districts. Syntero Summer Prevention Programming is made possible by community funded levy dollars as distributed by the Franklin County ADAMH Board and the Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board. Parents and caregivers of students enrolled outside of the identified districts will be welcome to register for a group(s) with openings after a to-be-determined date.
