Syntero Trainings

Syntero offers continuing education trainings for staff and community members. Trainings are free for Syntero staff members and interns and only $20 per CEU for community members.

Eating Disorders & Suicide

Syntero’s Eating Disorders and Suicide training will provide participants with a review of eating disorder etiology and definitions, information on different eating disorder diagnoses, and the neurobiology associated with eating disorders. Participants will learn to utilize different questionnaires and screeners to assess the presence and severity of an eating disorder, and will understand the link between eating disorders and increased risk for suicide.

This training is approved for one CEU through the CSWMFT Board for counselors and social workers and will be facilitated by Syntero Delaware City & Buckeye Valley School Services Coordinator Shelbey Mitchell, LISW-S, MSW.

Assessing and Treating Race-Based Trauma

In the virtual Assessing and Treating Race-Based Trauma training, participants will:

  • Gain knowledge relevant to the treatment of historical, and race-based trauma, as well as best practices for assessing, engaging, and help clients process race-based traumatic experiences
  • Leave with a better understanding of concepts related to diversity
  • Be able to ask culturally responsive assessment questions
  • Better identify apply interventions in regards to traumatic experiences for historically marginalized populations

This training is approved for one CEU through the CSWMFT Board for counselors and social workers and will be facilitated by Syntero Diversity and Inclusion Program Coordinator Courtney Dobson, LISW-S, and Outpatient Clinician Kashif Khan, LSW.

Culturally Responsive Treatment Planning and Beyond

In the virtual Culturally Responsive Treatment Planning and Beyond training, participants will:

  • Learn how to be inclusive of clients’ cultures throughout the treatment process— from treatment planning, ongoing treatment and discharge from services
  • Learn how to identify cultural strengths and practice, including concrete strategies to enforce these strengths/practices throughout treatment
  • Increase their understanding of linguistic considerations, including best practices when utilizing interpreting services

This training is approved for one CEU through the CSWMFT Board for counselors and social workers and will be facilitated by Syntero Outpatient Clinician Kellye Cross, LISW-S, PMH-C.
