All Syntero group programs are facilitated by licensed professionals and require pre-registration. There may be a cost associated with some groups. All groups are currently meeting virtually, but home-office location is included for future reference.

Alcohol and Drug Education Group

This group is designed to educate group members about Substance Use Disorder (SUD), including alcohol and other drugs (SUD) and increase the awareness of the role alcohol and/or other substances have impacted them.

Meets: Mondays from 6:30-8:00 pm

Adult Relapse Prevention

This group is designed for adults with mental health problems who struggle with substance use and are willing to improve self-care and build recovery skills. If you are new to Syntero an assessment will need to be completed. Existing Syntero clients should discuss this group with your current therapist.

At A Loss Group

This group is for parents who have been pre-deceased by a child of any age under any circumstance. Group members have the opportunity to discuss grief and support each other.

Meets: 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Celebrate Us!

This group provides support for adults who are parents, family members and loved ones of LGBTQ+ folks of any age. Topics covered include communication, relationships, safety and self-care. No registration is required for this group.

Exploring Recovery Group

This group is designed for adults 18 and older who are struggling with addiction. Individuals will explore self-awareness, self-acceptance, problems their use has created and explore the positive impact of sobriety. This group is open to self-referred clients or court clients.

Evening Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Group

This group is designed to assist clients in effectively managing intense emotional and behavioral responses to stressful situations using emotion regulation, distress tolerance, core mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Grief Support Group

This group provides a safe space for people who are experiencing any type of grief. The pandemic has brought additional challenges to our grieving process, where many have not been able to connect with others for support. The Grief Support Group provides a virtual network of peer support to share your loss and grief journey to promote healing.

Meets: 2nd and 4th Mondays at 12 pm (beginning March 8th)

Extended Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Group

The Extended DBT group includes all four modules (9-12 weeks each)—mindfulness, interpersonal, effectiveness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance—and is based on the traditional Marsha Linehan model. This psycho-educational group targets interpersonal problems, cognitive confusion, emotional reactivity and impulsivity. The group is long term—9 months. New members can enter at 16-week intervals when mindfulness is reviewed.

Three separate meetings are available:

  • Tuesdays from 12-1:30 pm
  • Thursdays from 7-8:30 pm
  • Fridays from 12-1:30 pm

Recovery Matters – Adult IOP

This group is designed for adults 18 and up who are struggling with addiction. There are 12-16 group therapy sessions along with biweekly or weekly individual therapy sessions. Weekly, random drug screens and AA or NA meeting attendance once per week to promote long term sobriety.

Meets: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 6:00-9:00pm

Hope to Others (H2O)

Hope to Others is a community support group designed for family members of those with loved ones in recovery from or struggling with addiction.

Meets: 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7:00-8:00pm

Relapse Prevention for Adults

This group assists adults with substance use problems in addition to mental health problems. Goals are to promote wellness, implement self-help concepts, build stability and recovery skills, and strive to reach their full potential.

Meets: Tuesday from 6:00-7:00pm
